A static QR is a code printed once that always points to your UPI ID. The customer types the amount themselves. It is perfect for tea stalls and small shops, but it cannot tell you which order a payment belongs to.
A dynamic QR is created fresh for each payment. It carries the exact amount and a reference, so:
- customers cannot pay the wrong amount,
- each payment can be matched to an order automatically,
- it expires, so an old screenshot cannot be paid twice.
Using both
Many businesses keep a static QR on the counter and use dynamic QR for invoices, deliveries and online orders. In UPIPayments, the Collect a payment button creates a dynamic QR in two clicks, and a reusable payment page gives you a shareable link that works like a smarter static QR, with every payment recorded.
