Understanding API error codes

Every error reply has a machine-readable code. Here are the ones worth handling.

  • 401 unauthorized: wrong, missing or revoked key.
  • 402 insufficient_wallet: your package has transaction charges and the wallet cannot cover this payment’s fee. Top up.
  • 403 live_not_allowed: account not approved yet, KYC pending, or package expired. The message says which.
  • 403 ip_not_allowed: the call came from an IP not on your whitelist.
  • 409 duplicate_order_id: same order id with a different amount.
  • 409 no_connector: no active UPI account for this mode.
  • 422 amount_too_small / amount_too_large: outside your package’s per-payment range.
  • 429 daily_count_limit, monthly_amount_limit …: a package limit; upgrade or wait.
  • 429 rate_limited: too many calls per minute; respect Retry-After.
  • 502 provider_error: the provider refused or is unreachable; retry later.
