Integrating payments into your app: a checklist

  1. Create orders on your server, never in the browser, so keys stay secret.
  2. Use your own order id and treat it as unique.
  3. Fulfil on the webhook, verified by signature, not on the return page.
  4. Handle every status: pending, success, failed, expired, refunded.
  5. Test in staging with test keys, including failures.
  6. Plan refunds and who may issue them.
  7. Log and reconcile daily against the provider’s settlement report.
