Direct UPI: accept payments on any UPI ID

Direct UPI works with any UPI ID: a business UPI ID from PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay or your bank, and even a personal one for very small sellers.

How it works

  1. The checkout shows a dynamic QR for the exact amount and app buttons on phones.
  2. The customer pays and enters the 12-digit UTR.
  3. You check the payment in your bank or UPI app and press Payment received.

When to use it

It is perfect for getting started, for small volumes and for counter sales. For automatic confirmation at scale, connect a PhonePe Payment Gateway account and keep Direct UPI as a backup.

Safety

A UTR can confirm only one payment, and unconfirmed UTRs expire after a set number of days.
